Shadow Dancer

(I)

the dancer dwells in realms of chaos
her smile is forced by the dance
a figure and its shadow, one imitates the other
first to the right, as her legs point to the Sun
steps left and trembles, tumbling memories down
her thin waist curls in shame for one bad turn
but she is perfect in creation

(II)

darkness shatters my complacency
I, the mirror, the image cast
lack the original form
it exerts control over my desire
demise of the self
weaknesses among strengths divide
fears among faiths, lurking in deepest me

angels surrounding me exorcize me empty
devils inside me procrastinate in my void
my voice alliterates my inner, words just linger
deep breaths suffice to speak my truth
constraints rupture my disguise
silent whispers, meant not to be heard
reach deeper than I ever were

I'm not attaining purity
